“I’ve always been a person that’s wanted to help people,” said Paul, whose previous work experience was in the medical field and working as a bouncer and diffusing situations. “It’s not just helping them get out of jail, but helping them steer to a right path—telling them they have options.”
Paul saw an opportunity with AAA Bail Bonds covering the counties in western Minnesota, set up a meeting with the owner and the rest is history. Paul can regularly be found at the jails and courthouses in Yellow Medicine, Chippewa, Lac qui Parle, Big Stone, Traverse and Lincoln Counties.
“I check the rosters daily and if something is happening I’m generally there,” he said.
In Paul’s spare time, he works with the American Legion Riders, which consists of members of the American Legion that also own motorcycles and are passionate about giving back to the veterans in their communities. They ride together (Paul on his Harley-Davidson), do fundraisers and donate money to different projects for veterans and the communities that the Riders live in. Paul is a Charter member and helped form the Legion Riders chapter at Post 59 in Montevideo.
Paul, who can be seen on his Harley year-round, also enjoys watching dirt track racing.
Back at AAA Bail Bonds, Paul enjoys helping people get out of jail and always waits for his clients to get out of jail so he can talk to them outside and give them a ride home if needed.
“I offer them some support,” he said.
